This exhibit explored the West African country of Mali with photographs
by Malian photographers Alioune Bâ and Amadou Sow, and American
photographers Nestor Hernández, Shawn Davis and Sora Devore.
These five photographers worked together teaching photography to
Malian youth in the "Visual Griots" project.

Youth Photography Projects
Calidoscopio Cubano: An Exhibit
of Photos and Art by Cuban Children was to be on
display in July 2006 at the Foteteca de Cuba gallery in Havana Cuba.
Because of the current restrictions on travel to Cuba, the exhibit
was postponed.
The Kodak company gave Nestor film and photographic paper for the
project, and has set up a fantastic Web
Site featuring the 2003 workshop.
Visual Griots: A Photography Workshop for Children in Tominian,
Mali
Nestor led another youth photography project, this time with young
people in Mali. West Africa. more
